FAQs for Aromatherapy

What is aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is a therapeutic art that uses the scent and application of essential oils to heal and enhance your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.

What are essential oils?

Essential oils are highly concentrated liquids usually extracted from plants/trees, through steam distillation. They contain the essence or life force of the plant, and are highly volatile (evaporates quickly), light and non-greasy. Easily dissolved in fats and alcohol, their highly complex chemical compositions have many healing properties and cannot be reproduced in a laboratory.

Why is quality important when working with essential oils?

Essential oils (EO’s) are extremely complex in nature, as they have between 200-500 different chemical components. And it is because of this diffuse chemical structure, that essential oils have a wide range of healing properties. However, only high quality (EO’s) will be extremely complex. When you use lower quality essential oils, many of the nuances associated with that oil, will no longer be there. For instance, both high and low quality essential oils may work well topically, but when applied subtlety (energetically), only the higher quality EO will actually work.

What Brand of Essential Oils do you use and are they high quality?

All of my products are made from high quality essential oils. Certified by EcoCert, that has the highest organic and processing standards in the world, most of my essential oils come from The Aromatherapist or its sister company Oshadi. Both companies only work with small farmers and processors and are hand bottled, making the perfect vibrational product for alternative practitioners, spiritual and every day use.

Are essential oils the same as perfume or fragrance oils?

No! Made to copy nature’s scents and used in candles, soap, perfume and other products, fragrance or perfume oils are synthetically made in a laboratory and do not have any healing properties.

Can I apply your aromatherapy products directly to my skin?

Yes! Since all my essential oil products are diluted and blended with either a carrier oil or liquid, they are safe to use directly on your skin.

What are carrier oils?

Carrier oils are used to dilute essential oils.

What carrier oils do you use and why do you use them?

All of our First Aid massage oils and Chakra Set are blended with organic Golden Jojoba and as a non-processed product it won’t go rancid, stain your clothes and also has the same Ph as your skin.

Our Facial Serum is blended with several carriers: hazelnut oil (being slightly astringent, won’t leave an oily residue and is easily absorbed), borage seed oil (an anti-inflammatory it is also good for restoring moisture and smoothness to both the dry skin or damaged skin), rose hip seed oil (improves skin firmness and elasticity, repairs sun damage and discoloration, reduces scars, fine lines and wrinkles)

Can I use your aromatherapy products if I’m pregnant?

Please check with your doctor first to see if this is advisable for you.

How should I store my aromatherapy products?

All products should be kept in a cool, dry place and preferably out of direct sunlight. If you are not using your spritzers on a regular basis, refrigeration is probably best to keep them fresh.

Do you have aromatherapy products to use for spiritual development?

Yes! Please see our Sacred Anointing oils and Spiritual Aromatherapy products.

What is Subtle Aromatherapy?

For a person who is mainly physically oriented, subtle aromatherapy may be hard to grasp as it works with aspects of self that are difficult to touch or see. Although subtle aromatherapy can restore balance to our thoughts and emotions, it can also bring healing to our energetic system (aura, meridians and chakras) and be used for spiritual development.

Do you sell products that work with Subtle Aromatherapy?

Yes! All of my Spiritual Aromatherapy Products & Sacred Anointing Oils embrace the principles of Subtle Aromatherapy.

What are Flower Essences?

As a vibrational remedy, Flower Essences work with the Doctrine of Signatures that states each flower resonates to a different emotional or spiritual issue we may have. Created by putting a single type of flower in a bowl of water and then placing it in the sun for several hours, the sunlight infuses the water with the flower’s life-force, giving birth to a Mother Essence. The Mother Essence is then diluted to produce stock and dosage essences that can raise our vibration and restore balance.

How do you use Flower Essences in your aromatherapy products?

All of my Spiritual Healing products have been enhanced with flower essences.

Do you teach any aromatherapy courses?

Yes! Please see my website for details.
